My graduate collection, ‘Oscillation’, was initially inspired by a suitcase filled with cherished memories from my childhood. Amongst the contents of the suitcase, I found an image of my siblings and I on a ski holiday, which piqued my interest in snow sports and led me to explore the dynamic shapes and curves involved.
The name ‘Oscillation’ reflects the back-and-forth movements of skiing and snowboarding, as well as the balance and harmony required to execute these movements effectively.
To complement the fluidity and energy of skiing, I decided to use a neutral colour palette for my collection. Choosing a neutral tones allowed me to accentuate the movement and silhouettes of each piece in the collection.
I also drew inspiration from my elder sister Orlagh, who still has a deep interest in snow sports and provided me with valuable insights into the nuances of the sport.
