The inspiration for fading memories came from going through old family photos. What captured my attention is, depending on how old, the different stages of the ink fading.
This path of time and memory became my main focus for this collection. I began to look for shapes within the photographs, I began to collaborate with sculptors and painters who have worked with this theme to get the inspiration I needed for shape.
I came across a painting called ‘Spider of the Evening’ (1940) by Salvador Dali, the theme of this painting is how time and memories can become stretched out and faded over time.
Throughout my collection I aimed to replicate the evanesces of memories that Dali creates in his painting though the elongation of the skin and the distortion of shape.
