To interchange two things is to trade or switch them.
For inspiration I looked at the lifecycle of a tent at a festival. From the beginning of the festival the tent is structured and controlled. The tent begins to twist and bend throughout the festival, zips begin to open. By the end, the tent is distorted and chaotic. Tents are broken, turned inside out, sleeping bags are outside, people are spilling out.
The main concept in my design process is that all garments are interchangeable within function, gender and size. The idea is they can be worn during the festival but then repurposed and used to camp during the night as a tent/ sleeping bag/ blanket. I worked primarily on the stand, exploring forms using actual tents and sleeping bags. I reimagined their ingredients in my designs applying technical elements like zips, panels, piping, wadding and rods.
