Euphoria: characterized by or feeling intense excitement and happiness, ‘a euphoric sense of freedom’.
My unisex collection is inspired by the psychedelic experience. The aim of this collection was to highlight the raw freedoms of the 60’s/70 by reimagining it through the lens of today. I was interested in researching into the aftermath of the 60’s cultural revolution, which led me to the topic of psychedelic influence. I wanted to respond to these
experiences in my use of texture, colour, and silhouette. My collection is inspired by a psychedelic trip on LSD which was inspired by my friend’s series of sketches created while he was on a trip. The start of the collection is calmer and then evolves into more erratic, shape, colour and texture. I used cotton and drill fabrics for the more calm elements in the collection whereas I used PVC, shimmery satins and duchess satins for the more trippy aspect in the collection.
