“Up the Áras”

My Collection originated from a dream I had as a 10 year old. Part of this dream talked about “dancing crazy with the girls in the Aras”. Aras an Uachtarain being the home of the President of Ireland.

Referencing different aspects of dancing culture and I took silhouette inspiration from the icons of Studio 54. Delving through the archives of Studio 54 I was fascinated by the world in which these glamorous celebrities lived. Referencing icons such as Bianca Jagger, Jane Fonda, Cher, Pat Cleveland, Richard Gallo and Grace Kelly.

My aim was to create a tongue-in-cheek collection that encouraged a submersive atmosphere into an audacious soiree in Aras an Uachtarain. Breaking the margins of an uptight stately environment into one of pure chaos.
