Oscellus |

Oscellus, meaning Simple Eye, is a name that reflects both the theme and process of this project. Using images of jellyfish as a starting point I abstracted elements to direct my choice of material as well as creating patterns for both surface design and stitch structures. Drawing is the starting point of any project I take part in. I believe that it is an essential role in any creative process and opens new ways of seeing. It aids in the decision I make in my studio practice whether it is used for 2D or 3D. This way of analysing information also aids in my exploration of materials and textiles, giving me the time to consider where I will go next and what materials most reflect the theme appropriately. For this project I based most of my work from hand and digital drawings. I used a broad range of process from machinery to digital print.
