My collection is inspired by the story of the Children of Lir. Within this tragic story from Celtic mythology I focused on the moment when the four children are put under a magical spell by their stepmother transforming them into elegant, graceful swans. This is shown in the line and silhouette of each piece within the collection. Until the spell is broken they must survive the harsh elements of the open seas. The movement and rhythm of their wings as they are tossed on the sea for 900 years is expressed in layers of organza, lamé and satin fabric.
