My AW17/18 collection is influenced by my time spent in the garden, walking in the countryside and by the coast, paying special attention to the skyline and roaring waves. The knitted textiles have also been developed from details in the clothing I wear when outdoors, specifically my laced shoes and parka jacket.

I am inspired by the physical process of developing textile. I enjoy challenging the limitations of technique, developing stitch structures and focusing on how seams can be joined together. There are traditional influences in my designs but they are re-interpreted in a modern and contemporary way. The texture in the knit is created by working some cabling (more industrial looking than traditional), combined with striping, and utilising yarn which is inspired by the rolling waves and the horizon line.

These concepts, combined with hardware and stitching details, convey a love of the natural with an urban edge and offer a fusion of sophistication and casual style expressing a tactile affinity with the wearer.
