Magnetic North

My final collection is about a sense of direction, inspired by the movement between the boat sails and changing wind patterns. The aim was to capture the romantic twisting and turning of the sails dancing in the wind. To achieve this, I worked with 3-dimensional drape in a variety of fabrics such as suiting and satin to emulate the reflective sheen of the sails against the choppy glistening water. Black dashed lines hand-stitched onto the finished garments, create a heightened sense of direction, giving the collection a sophisticated and graphic look.
