Forget Me Not

Project rationale: My collection is inspired by the female in Irish Folklore. Our view of women in folklore changed when Christianity was introduced to Ireland to the point where female figures are most commonly regarded as evil witches and hags.

It looks at the aspect of ‘Irishness’ within the context of folklore, and lots of my motifs are inspired by the Irish landscape in the form of fairy rings, raths, dusk, dawn and stone carvings that predate Christianity in Ireland.
