Hues of Home

Alison’s work consists of still life compositions and domestic interiors that are playful, distorted and infused with negative space. By eliminating the details of objects, she aims to reduce them to their purest form to allow for the poetics of shape and line to take center stage. Alison utilises colour and pattern as a form of escapism within her work, to create a dreamlike oasis that transports the viewer to a world beyond the mundane.

Her appreciation for the everyday is evident, as she strives to find the beauty and meaning in the objects that surround us. By placing emphasis on shape and form over detail, Alison hopes to inspire a deeper connection to the simple beauty that can be found all around us.
