“Ever since the dawn of civilization, people have craved an understanding of the underlying order of the world. Today we still yearn to know why we are here and where we came from. Humanity’s deepest desire for knowledge is justification enough for our continuing quest. And our goal is nothing less than our complete description of the universe we live in” Stephen Hawking
My practice acts as a reference to our limited understanding of cosmos, our strange existence and questioning the relationship between the self and the universal unknown. I believe that viewing the night sky is incredibly important and that astronomy helps us to understand our universe. The visible stars appear so far away to us as just pin points of light that have traveled to earth. I have become fascinated by how long it takes light to reach to earth. The light source may be non- existence once it has reached us. A narrative has been created between the creation of the stars life and the journey of its light span. This narrative suggests a conscious physicality that might exist beyond our night sky.
