My Collection was inspired by my Grandfathers
old photo albums. For as long as I can remember my grandfather’s house has always been filled with old photographs, scrapbooks of old newspaper clippings and objects all of which have either belonged to him or he has collected over the years. I have always been fascinated with these as a source of inspiration for my work. For my collection I focused solely on photos he had taken during the 1950’s.

I really wanted to bring out the contrast between the tidy, feminine clothes of the women working at home and the more hardwearing and strong men’s work-clothes and suits.
