This collection is based around a little girl’s relationship with her favourite doll. It is informed by the ways in which time takes its toll, on both the growing child and the fading doll.
Garments are panelled in the image of the doll, relative to the changing nature of the doll-girl relationship, as it evolves from inseparability through distancing and ultimately, parting. Printed fabrics are bleached out as a reflection of the time worn doll. Seams are emphasised with naïve hand stitching, referring to attempts at childish control.
As the girl struggles with the inevitable separation, garments begin to separate and seams begin to open, revealing her diary entries in openwork embroidery.
