OUTLINE

‘You can’t change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust the sails.’

The collection is based on the movement of sails.
I was inspired by the artist, Vjeko Sager’s series of line drawings and paper cut outs. The drawings are linear and curved which represent movement and direction. The paper cut outs influenced my choice of fabric and use of laser cut. Laser cutting and etching are the techniques I used throughout the collection. I laser cut onto leather, cotton and drill and I etched onto wool. I based my designs on the shirt spec. The collection illustrates the direction of the sails as the curved lines travel through each look by the use of the laser cut line.
