this degree collection drew its inspiration from the different stages of drowning. the conflicts between astonishment and unconsciousness are juxtaposed with the collections’ independent silhouettes and restless tessellate textures. the turmoil ensued in the act is reflected by discordant seams, and muted tones of white and grey depict the suggestion of life cessation. Using fabric manipulation techniques applique and the box pleat pattern used in each piece allows for continuous movement throughout the collection, to mirror wave motion and the reflective properties of water.
