Le Grá (with love)
This is an emotive collection inspired by the universal expression of heartache, happiness and finding harmony and freedom within oneself. In this collection I wanted to portray how romantic, platonic and self-love can impact both our state of mind and the emotions we feel throughout the journey of life. The designs visualise a sense of feeling cocooned and safe one moment to then feeling lost, and suddenly having to find yourself.
My designs derive from the chambers of the heart, the brain and the manipulation of shape on the stand. My design process is instinctual, and the soft fabrics used express the organic flow in which I works. The fabrics used are 100% linen and 100% cotton to create a gentle fall and a softness within the garments. I also used tulle to create volume within the garment. The fitted panelling and large gatherings visualise the logic of the brain fighting with the emotions of the heart. This collection is dedicated to her grandmother Maur who epitomised self-love.
