Project Rational: Nicola Motley explores the ambiguous liminal spaces between thoughts, memory, fantasy, psychosexuality, the known and the unknown.  Motley believes that within the human psyche all of these altered states are present, in flux and co-existing at even the most banal moments of everyday life.  While our bodies navigate measurable distances in real time and space our minds are rarely ever present and seek to traverse these limitations.  Through layers and overlapping imagery, Motley conveys a sense of the chaotic nature of the thinking, dreaming, exploring, distracted, fantastical and ever shifting realms of excessive mental activity of the human brain.
