My SS17 collection is influenced by the abandoned amusement park Plänterwald in Berlin. My photography and drawings from within the park have provided me with the basis for my design and textile concepts. The shapes of the garments were realised from various rides inside the park. I wanted to reflect my love of surface texture using a mixture of plastics and acrylic paints fitting the composition of the amusements. The use of subdued powdery pinks and dusty oranges manifest themselves among the broken down and faded attractions. White canvas is an important fabric within the collection, as it is a stark reminder of the parks past soul. Flashes of gems and hits of bright colours export us back to a time of nostalgia and wonderment.
