Internment

Life inside an asylum. Inspired by Nellie Bly’s 1800’s report on ‘Ten Days in the Madhouse’, from which I was influenced by the forms of treatment and procedures within the patient’s daily routines. I was inspired by this in conjunction with the aesthetic of modern day clinical and sterile psychiatric wards. This collection is a reflection of the distortion and manipulation of the body and the mind as well as the tension and restriction both psychically and mentally.
