The inspiration for my collection was taken from the drawings of artist Matt Shlian. Shlian’s work is concerned with computer malfunctions and the glitching that occurs through errors in computer code. The concept behind the collection was to create garments that looked as though they could have been designed by a malfunctioning computer. The collection is constructed in a combination of plastics organzas and satins. Each glitch was achieved through a process of pleating horizontally into vertical pleats with each piece having one specific ‘glitch’ or ‘error’.
