In Greek mythology Circe is a sorcerous and temptress with many powers. Whom for pleasure and company seduced and entrapped traveling sailors who found her isolated island. For me the importance of draping layers of fabrics softly around the curves of the female form was key to my design process in keeping with the characteristics of the pre Raphaelite era. To accentuate a woman’s shape and seductive qualities I used variations of soft and sheer fabrics manipulated through layers of folding to achieve form. The crocheted wire in areas explores the darker characteristics of entrapment throughout my collection. Circe is an original femme fatal aware of her feminine powers which men are victim to.
