Badlads Spring / Summer 2017 is a collection inspired by the life and work of Jean Michael Basquiat. The Six looks delve into Basquiat’s sadly short life, and celebrate his creativity and his life in New York City during the 1980’s. The clothes’ silhouettes are derived from an exploration of New York’s street style in the eighties. Reflection the emotional content of my theme, the six looks follow the story of Basquiat, communicating numerous aspects of his life through unconventional choice and use of fabrics mixed with a varying range of construction techniques.
