BA Fashion (with Sustainability)

My collection “Timthriall” investigates the possibility of creating a fully sustainable and traceable graduate collection using materials sourced exclusively from Ireland’s natural landscape.

Growing up in rural Ireland, I have developed a deep awareness of the profound impact that nature and the land can have on us. It reminds us that we are part of something far greater than ourselves.

Working in harmony with nature encourages a slower, more conscious way of making one that fosters care, intention, and a deeper connection to both process and product. With this in mind, I have created modular and reversable pieces which are adaptable to each wearer’s body and that are 100% biodegradable.

As custodians of this planet we have a duty of care. Working in harmony with the earth and taking only what we need can ensure we leave as little trace as possible and do no harm. This is a major element of my graduate collection “Timthriall”. I have borrowed from the land to curate aesthetically beautiful and functional garments which will return to the soil and not only do no harm, but will nourish it.

Creating “Timthriall” has taught me to acknowledge, appreciate and respect what our natural world has to offer us in terms of materials, patterns and fibres which have directly influenced this collection.
