The “Getting It” Campaign

Understanding the power of designing for a worthy cause, turned a small classroom project on consent, into a national campaign for the USI and Midwest Rape Crisis centre. The “Getting It” campaign, wittily challenges peoples understanding of consent, all in the colourful and bold context of a poster, social media, and animation campaign. Launched in April 2018 in 36 colleges across Ireland, the campaign hosts a variety of characters all from different orientations, genders, and nationalities. It champions a true representation of the kind of people affected by consent, which is not just the female as a victim and the male as the perpetrator, as displayed in the majority of campaigns. It was this project that inspired me to consider the advertising world as the next stop on my journey as a designer. Using my strongest skills of copywriting, design, and art direction I can turn small boardroom concepts into real life campaigns, evoking real change and response from the society we live in.
