Craft Beer Redesign
This project features a Craft Beer redesign for O Brother Brewing, a craft brewery based in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. The concept for the packaging of the beer range takes inspiration from the history and wildlife of Kilcoole. The labels are printed with foil, paper and acrylic.
The circle is used as a device to contain the icons for each distinctive brew. The Runner Red Ale features a gun-running ship, ‘The Chotah’ from Kilcoole’s history. The Visitor Cloudy IPA features a Little Tern a seasonal coastal visitor of Kilcoole. The Imposter Non-alcoholic beer features a pint incognito.
The circle device is used also to convey distinctive attributes of the beers.
The label is made up of overlapping shapes, colour, and photography resulting in a strong visual. There are bottles, cans, beermats and a multi-pack carry case design for each of the beers in the range. Each carry case both features and promotes the social media outlets of the brand, the brand message, and the two other beers in the O Brother Brewing range.
