Evil, Lecherous, Vain and Lustful

Fear is probably the most elegant of all weapons; it wields power minus the dirt on your hands. The representations of the feminine that are commonly known to us today stem from fear. These representations, some laughable, some sexy as hell, are what I’m really interested in. And that fear. Because it has power. Whether it be a divine goddess, a virgin mother or a sci-fi alien witch pornstar, all of these stem from the interpretation through the male ‘I’. But woman is the other that makes the ‘I’ possible. Through my practice I seek to embrace this otherness to its fullest extent. I wish to be no daughter of feeble and vapid Eve, but rather one of Lilith’s thousand born ‘evils’ after her banishment from the Garden. To reclaim the evil, lecherous, vain and lustful witch as power. On the flip side of the fear coin lies desire, an equally powerful affection. This mingling of the fear and desire in representations, animations and mythologies of the feminine is the true heart of my practice. Through video, photography and hieroglyphic drawing, I seek to embody this true, able and almighty feminine to convey a more milky and plural iconography of womanhood.
