Phony

Phony is a magazine exploring the impostor phenomenon and how it affects women and minority groups working in creative industries disproportionately. The magazine looks at impostor syndrome objectively and explores how it manifests itself and how it can affect those who experience it. Through first-hand accounts interwoven with statistics and facts, Phony provides a platform for mental health issues to be spoken about openly, and squashes the myth that experiencing stress, anxiety, and self-doubt means that you are not cut out for a creative career. The campaign equips creatives with appropriate knowledge and tools to tackle impostor syndrome, while ultimately encouraging confidence and belief in individuality. A bold, contemporary, and experimental design approach is used in the campaign, in order to communicate a confident tone that will inspire readers to appreciate their creative process.
