I have always enjoyed making work that is an artistic representation and projection of my life. My work is inspired by my thoughts, actions and emotions that are provoked by various factors and influences in my day to day life. My main inspirations come from small white lies I use to dismiss true feelings and get by during my final year at Limerick School of Art and Design, as well as my experiences from working in a supermarket in a small town. Sarcasm and humour are evident within my work. They are used to mask the truth, and as a tool which, I feel, helps make my work easy to relate to. Colours symbolise brain activity and various emotions, which can be triggered by lying. Creating this body of work has helped me through an incredibly stressful year, and I feel that the presented pieces of work provide an accurate representation of who I am, even if the truth is not always present.
