Having lived between Dublin, Limerick and London over the last few years, one of the things I noticed in London was the abundance of creative expression happening in unconventional spaces like old houses, warehouses, abandoned shopping centres and more.
As a curator in Ireland, one of the biggest hurdles I have consistently faced has been finding spaces to exhibit work, particularly in Limerick and Dublin. Inspired by my time in London I have always seen the potential in vacant and abandoned buildings that I know given some TLC would be ideal homes for creativity.
Empty Canvas is a campaign aimed at transforming empty spaces into homes for creativity by raising awareness and showing the public that these buildings still have potential. Empty Canvas, transforms empty spaces into homes for creativity.
