Living in Limbo

The name of this campaign is #LivingInLimbo. This conceptual campaign is a part of Amnesty International’s fight to end Direct Provision. Direct Provision is the system of asylum seeker accommodation in Ireland.  The system has been considered inhuman and degrading by human rights organisations. The concept comes from a lack of action from leaders towards ending the direct provision system. The people living in asylum seeker accommodation are #LivingInLimbo because the Irish government has neglected to help. The campaign encourages citizens to get involved by contacting local or government leaders, and to hold them accountable.

With enough push from the public about enforcing the new plan to end Direct Provision it will ensure that the leaders know they must make changes. There will be a template with the most effective things to say when contacting politicians through email on the #LivingInLimbo page on the Amnesty International website, that the viewers are told to go to. The other main objective is to raise awareness and inform the general public. After the DOOH comes the launch of a social media campaign that provides people with more information about Direct Provision.
