‘Textures of time’

Claire’s work explores the physical effects of weathering and the passage of time on both the Irish landscape and individual materials. Her work showcases the beauty of decay that is created by the unstoppable process of aging. Drawn to the textures and patterns that emerge from materials as they are exposed to the elements, each individual piece’s story is its own passage of time. Claire uses these patterns to create dynamic compositions that evoke a sense of movement and change. Part of Claire’s work focuses on the ever changing coastal landscape. Through a meticulous exploration of materials, weathering and rusting effects, Claire aims to capture the raw beauty of erosion and decay that is naturally created.

Materiality is integral to the artwork, with each piece carefully chosen to reflect the transformative power of nature. Weathered, wood, rusted metal, and peeling paint are central in the work. Allied with these materials, Claire uses photography to capture the Irish landscapes and spaces.
