Get Chatting

Studys have shown that in the last few years social anxiety has been on the rise in teenagers, due to factors such as social media and the Covid19 pandemic. As a response to this problem I have designed Get Chatting, a book for teenagers to assist them in overcoming their social anxiety.

Incorporating practises of cognative behavioural therapy from the Centre for Clinical Interventions (based in Perth, Australia), and helpful tips, in the form of a B5 book makes it more accessible for teens to utilise in their day-to-day life. The hope is that using the steps the person will build confidence and work to better handle social situations. Additionally, there is an accompanying poster in the book that the viewer would hang up to get quick recomders of the lessons they have learned.

I have used abstract characters throughout the text to show the ambiguous state that our mental state can represent with a both anxious and calm mind.
