Sculpted Studios
Embedded on the Irish coast along the Wild Atlantic Way; Sculpted Studios is an interior design proposal for a ceramics based amenity. The design envisions a place of retreat, for some to sharpen their skills while for others it’s a recreational space to meet new people with similar interests. Sculpted Studios hosts a multitude of resource filled studios which provide a space for education or a space to unwind with friends to explore the world of ceramics.
Looking out across Clewbay, the former Rosmoney spa is located on the outskirts of Westport, County Mayo. Inspired by the location’s rurality and nature of its typology; the concept that was developed for this scheme is the traditional Irish Fireplace.
Concentrating on the firing phase of ceramics process, the concept was incorporated into the design of the spaces and bespoke elements. This also influenced the layout of the studios which are process orientated, focusing on the crafting, firing, decorating, and finishing of ceramics. Allowing for users to travel up through each level of the building, on a journey alongside their unique hand-crafted ceramic. Creating a take home experience unique to Sculpted Studios.
