Exposure

The inspiration for my work comes from the study of old and weathered wood in vernacular architecture.

Weathering and deterioration are not instant.  They create layers of history and collectively, the narrative of the object.

Over time peeling paint, distressed texture and muted contrast can form an aesthetic record of the decaying process.

The mundane becomes spectacular.
