The Embrace
My graduate collection is inspired by intimacy. I Research the connection, wrapping and the heat of the body. The collection tells a story of the tightening, heightening and the interaction of the body during the stages of intimacy. I took inspiration from drawings and images of intertwining bodies to develop shape and line. In creating shape I draped fabric on a stand to develop initial patterns and laying and wrapping effects this allowed me freedom in developing innovated cut.
The colour tones in my collection reflect body temperature during intimacy. The transition from feminine to masculine through lighter to darker tones. The colours begin deeper and gradually lead to softer tones to finish. I used sensual fabrics throughout my collection such as silk, satin and leatherette.
