“The biggest lesson in photography is that from negative we make a positive” Josef Kondelka
In contemplating the reality of what is generally perceived as an unpleasant reminder of a wound or trauma, my aim is to engage the viewer by inviting them to connect with the presented objects that evidence the beauty of a healed scar.
I aspire to initiate a reconfiguration of the viewer’s perception of what is seen as negative.
If you do not have a negative, you do not have the whole picture.
The scar becomes a positive trace.
The trace becomes a fraction.
Accept it for what it is.
A cicatrix.
*Cicatrix (a cicatrix is a scar over a healed wound).
