Counterpoise

Succulents bloat and swell through the retention of water. The plant expands and bulges from within, the tension of growth encased by their outer skin. They flourish, stretch and evolve in response to constant care and attention.

My ceramic work explores this tension to create contemporary sculptural ceramic planters. I am paying homage to the succulents that surround me by giving them a new home, inspired by them, in which to flourish.
