Fascinate

I am intrigued by lichen. Growing on rocks and trees, much of its fantastic formation cannot be seen by the naked eye and is therefore overlooked. Such remote beauty can however become visible through a microscopic lens. This hidden environment seen at close range reveals naturally beautiful structures – characteristics that are often echoed on a different scale in more familiar plant life.

Through juxtaposing this natural source with headware, I aim to capture and draw attention to these hidden natural wonders. Creating handmade adornments presented on hats that serve as plinths. The intention of this body of work is to highlight what nature does best in a world that disregards what is not easily seen.
