What You Made Me

Exploring the complex emotions of engaging with unhealthy relationships, my work aims to create the sense of concealment, sheltering oneself from a toxic environment, whilst seeking comfort in the familiarity and safety of soft materials.
Through the use of natural fibres, the softness and fragility of the wool creates a tone that contradicts the roughness of the tight crochet tension and the harshness of the text. This use of distorted and ambiguous text shows the intricacy of interpersonal relationships.
