My interdisciplinary work explores the idea of community and the power of bringing people together through shared experiences. It is centered around a small community theatre in rural Cork, which in the area serves as a hub for connection. It is a place that my family really got to know the community through. My dad, who had moved here from another country became deeply involved in this found family and community. Working behind the scenes on set building, sound, and lighting, without any prior experience allowed him to discover a new passion and sense of belonging. Through regular live events people are brought together from all aspects of the local residence. Through this space, my work highlights the richness of communal engagement and the meaningful impact that collective participation can have on a community. While capturing the atmosphere, I use many different techniques to bring together images, intertwining people, text and visual elements together.
