Karl Loves Mass
Karl Loves Mass is a short story portraying an average Irish teenagers experience of going to mass. The story is centered around my own experiences of growing up in a catholic household. I like many others didn’t particularly enjoy the ritual of attending mass.
This story begins on a typical Sunday morning as Karl wakes up to his alarm. With the realization that it’s too early to get up, he drifts back to sleep thinking he has nothing planned for the day. The sleep soon to be disrupted as the real alarm in the form of his mother wakes and drags him out of bed for morning mass. The story continues into the church where I try and recreate the boring, embarrassing and funny parts of a sermon.
The style that I am using for this piece is a 2D animation built around voice acting, music and sound effects, a style inspired from the animated Ricky Gevais Podcast Show amongst others.
