The title of my animation short is Amity. My animation short is Inspired by the events that transpired in world war II, So many stories that we hear from world war II are about how one side defeated the other and the ruthless and horrible events and actions that the soldiers took in order to win but very rarely we hear about the acts of kindness and humanity that soldiers from both sides showed to each other.
The short takes place during the battle of the bulge, specifically the siege of Bastogne, it tells the story of the act of kindness shown by two soldiers who bump into each other in the heat of battle. The visual concept was heavily inspired by pop art and comic books, I wanted to give the viewers a visual representation of what it would be like for the pages of the comic book to come to life by using bright colours, graphic images and the use of parallax for added depth.
