PRE-PRODUCTION CONCEPT PACKAGES
This fourth year project was divided into three miniature projects, each consisting of taking a book or game created at least 30 years ago and creating a pre-production concept package for it, as if it was a film/game currently in development and soon being released. The books chosen were Logan’s Run (1967) and Brave New World (1932) and these were developed as if they were being produced into a live-action film while the chosen game Defender (1981 Atari game) was being developed as a game reboot for next gen consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox ONE. All had a 16+ certificate in mind when creating the artwork due to some violent themes e.g. shooting. Throughout all chosen material there is a strong science-fiction aspect, set on a future Earth and on a distant alien world. In terms of the art styles created within the concept package, they vary from being realistic to cartoony almost caricature-esque.
