HISTORY OF A 17TH CENTURY COURTHOUSE

This is a brief history of The Main Guard building in Clonmel, Tipperary. It was made in video format to be projected onto a model of the building. It includes images masked into a template of the building as it stands today.

It outlines the building from its construction in 1675 through some of its various uses (including Pub) and up to the present day where it has now been renovated and declared a National Monument. One scene depicts the trial of Father Sheehy, who was convicted of murder. This is an infamous trial where it is widely regarded that the charges were trumped up.

Since its renovation it has been run as a tourist office and houses exhibitions during the summer months.
