Freedom to Connect
Freedom to Connect is an animation which aims to showcase how technology can keep us connected. Freedom to Connect follows a boy as he grows up and uses a PC to connect and socialise with his peers. He feels joy and a real sense of connection as he uses the PC and develops a connection with the PC. This relationship with the PC that develops comes crashing down as it breaks leaving him untethered to the outside world.
Through the use of 3D Modelling and 2D Rotoscoping, Freedom to Connect showcases the importance of technology and connections in an isolated and impersonal world. As a society we have been cut off and asked to remain separate and isolated in order to protect those we love and care about, Freedom to Connect explores the consequences of losing that connection and explores the ways in which we as people can adapt to stay in contact.
