Inspired by the philosophy of existentialist writers and artists, my goal is to convey in some way the truth I find within the world with paint. The figures within my work are alone and tend to hold quiet blank expressions within an abstract, surreal background.
Their mundane acts displayed on a large and grandiose scale within the confines of a bourgeoise setting. Aim to express the fickle meaning of any act universally.
Through the act of applying paint and trying to create images that represent, at least to me, this universal truth, I find solace and meaning within this life.
I don’t expect people to feel exactly what I have in mind when I create my work. The viewer has lived a separate life with separate experiences to mine which shape the way in which they will relate and feel about my work.
