My practice focuses on the creation of immersive environments and structures that stimulate the viewers senses and enhance awareness of their movement and occupation of space. I have been working with materials and surfaces such as aluminium and mirror due to their reflective qualities and ability to modify a space. The moment someone enters the space it is immediately altered challenging the viewers perception. The viewer participates in the constant reconstruction of the environment, eliminating the idea of fixed viewpoints. Each experience will be individual as each viewer will be presented with a labyrinth of his or her reflected image to navigate, the viewer will immediately become an active participant of the work. I want my work to exist less as an object to be examined but as a generator of perceptual responses in the eye and mind of the viewer.
