Goodbyes

This Artists work explores the themes of recreated memories through the term ‘Goodbye’s’ as she says ‘goodbye’ to the memories of lost loved ones, her childhood home and her life growing up in Limerick. This theme being inspired by the remanence of photographs taken by her late grandfather and herself throughout her life as she plans her future, leaving Limerick and starting her new artistic career. The photographs chosen documenting her life growing up with family and friends and include cherished memories. This project is an ode to her grandparents and family who have supported and have given her everything to make her the person she is today.  

In this project the artist using methods learnt and developed in Print Contemporary Practice such as Cyanotype, Screenprint, Digital media and Laser Cutting. Hannah has created two signature collections in this project, the first being a handmade cyanotype book showcasing memories of her childhood. The second being a collection of three mirrors each containing an illustrated version of photographs taken. Exploring her newfound love for digital media and how she incorporates it into her Fine Art practice. Each mirror engraved with a memory differentatiating between one of her grandmother, late grandfather and her passed away pets. Capturing those cherished loved ones memories in her work.
