This short film project production focuses on the topic on sleep paralysis. It is when a person struggles to get to sleep and sees a shadow demon or creature watching them throughout the night while awake. This story focuses on a young woman named Angelica, a filmmaker who is working on a horror film, with her friend Fiona. Angelica comes home after a long of work feeling exhausted and tired, but she also feels paranoid, believing that someone else is inside her own home. She goes to bed but finds it difficult to sleep. She stays awake and sees a female shadow figure standing at her bedroom door watching her while in bed. Angelica panics when it comes closer to her as it watches over her. Angelica seeks for help or advice from Fiona, however, it doesn’t end well for her.

I came with up with this idea as I was researching sleep paralysis, and I was reading what is it and I even saw some creative spooky short videos and images online as well. While in my travels I would listen to music artists and their lyrics, and they would mention a demon or a creature in their songs. So this gave me the idea to create this horror film project. I first wrote the script and I wanted to tell my story about a woman experiencing a horror film inside her own home. I then went scout locating around Limerick to see what locations I’d like to use for the project. I sent out a casting call and I was able to get two actors on board for the project. I then went on organising a crew for the production, but however, due to circumstances out of my control I was not able to produce the movie within the given time. But all the preproduction work is done and went well.  I will hope to get the film produced in time.
